Amazonian Dreams with Clarke and Clarke
Create a restful bedroom look with the Amazonia Collection
The Amazonia Collection from Clarke and Clarke is a sumptuous and rich offering which brings a real touch of the tropical into your interior scheme. Taking the paradise of the rainforest as inspiration, fabrics with deep and mysterious colourways, along with its vibrant imagery of exotic flowers and fruits, makes this range the perfect choice for anyone wishing to create a relaxing yet passionate bedroom feel.
Here at Soft Options Interiors, we’ve designed three different bedroom looks using the fabrics available within the Amazonia collection, which all explore a theme of nature and otherworldliness to help you strike a balance of calmness and serenity for your own bedroom space. A key motif in all three is the Damsel fabric which takes the form of a subtly embroidered damselfly in different colour options. We feel this is the perfect choice for floaty curtains or simple blinds, to create the feeling of the beauty of nature that exists just outside of your window peeking in.
A Paradise in Plum
Our first scheme takes the Paradise Teal velvet fabric as the main pattern and pairs it alongside Kelso Chartreuse and Kelso Raspberry as contrasting plain fabrics. Paradise Teal features Passion and Protea flowers in vibrant shades of plum and pink against a rich teal background. Perfect for covering a feature headboard or upholstering bedroom chairs, you have the option to bring in the plainer fabrics elsewhere if you want to create just a touch of drama.
Inspired by nature, the Wild Plum Light paint shade from Sanderson Paints has a vibrant fuchsia colouring with a playful spirit which is strong enough to pull together the plums and pinks within the Paradise fabric to create a cohesive colour story.
If you likes the idea of continuing the drama into your curtains with more Paradise Teal, then Damsel Citron will sit perfectly behind this fabric in the form of blinds.
Subtle Blushes and Blues
Our second bedroom scheme once again takes the Paradise fabric but in the more subtle colourway of Blush. This gives you the opportunity to play with paints and plainer fabrics in pink, blue and grey tones. Just like Oakeley Slate - a sophisticated and calming shade from Sanderson Paints which incorporates both pink and grey.
If you prefer this calming feeling, then upholstering a headboard in either Kelso Blush or Kelso Eau de Nil and introducing scatter cushions in the Paradise Blush option will keep things visually interesting but supremely relaxing. Damsel Blush is the best choice for this scheme and could be used as a feature throw or main window treatment to keep everything fresh and ethereal.
A Tantalising Teal Rainforest
Our third scheme takes the Rainforest Glade velvet fabric, and plays with its strong blue and teal tones to capitalise on the vibrant mix of colour. The tropical foliage in the design also lends itself to more vibrant lime greens or dark bottle greens. But by taking Damsel Teal which gives the richest embroidery colours, and bringing in Sanderson Paints Harbour Blue with its striking turquoise tone alongside Kelso Bluebird you can create a truly tantalising teal colour story which still ultimately feels peaceful and serene.
